Electronics Technician, Mid
Typical Responsibilities:
- Provide production manufacture, product repair, field service, and material handling support.
- Support the build and repair of electronics equipment.
- Complete complex technical functions in support of engineers including set up, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of electronic/electromechanical components and systems, experimental design circuitry, and prototype models.
- Perform repair and maintenance tasks on equipment that is complex, with a variety of complicated components.
- Utilize government documentation such as engineering drawings, technical manuals, and repair standards to conduct maintenance tasks.
- Install, overhaul, and test equipment in accordance with customer requirements.
Location: Full time onsite in Panama City, FL.
Travel Requirements: This position is anticipated to require up to 20% travel, including overseas travel, to support repair and installation efforts.
Typical Physical Activity: Repair, fabrication, and installation activities in engineering lab spaces and shipboard environments. May include: repetitive motion, soldering in a ventilated space, maneuvering large objects with human/equipment assistance, and traversing ladders, climbing, and navigating tight/confined shipboard spaces.
US Citizenship Required: Due to the requirements of the federal contract that this position supports, U.S. citizenship is required. Citizenship will be confirmed via I-9/E-Verify at the start of employment.
Existing Secret Security Clearance Required: This position requires an existing, active DoD Secret security clearance. Only candidates with existing clearances will be considered.
Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- ONE of the following combinations of education and experience:
- Three (3) years of relevant professional experience plus a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline; OR
- Five (5) years of relevant professional experience plus one of the following credentials:
- Relevant technical school diploma or certificate.
- Navy Electronic Technician “A” school (Course Identification Number A-100-0149) or other relevant military school completion.
- Associate degree in a relevant technical discipline.
- Hands-on professional experience with building and/or repairing electronics components and systems.
- Experience gained in a U.S. Navy or other DoD environment is highly preferred.
- An ideal candidate will possess one or both of the following certifications, or comparable electronics soldering certifications:
- IPC J-STD-001G Soldering Electrical and Electronic Assemblies certification.
- Miniature/Microminiature (2M) certification in accordance with NAVSEA TE000-AA-MAN-010/2M.
- Proficiency with common productivity software and collaborative tools including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.
- Strong communication skills.
